Sherwood Trust continues the legacy and dedication of Donald and Virginia Sherwood, who spent their lives contributing to make the Walla Walla Valley a better place to live. As a private, place-based nonprofit foundation, Sherwood Trust serves as a catalyst for building capacity to create a cohesive, vibrant community. Since our founding in 1991, we have invested over $32 million to strengthen nonprofit organizations and develop communities across our region. We look forward to many more years of partnership and community building.

Our primary grantmaking invests in an organization’s top priority for strengthening its or the community’s capacity, typically with requests over $20,000.

The NCLC is a partnership with Walla Walla Community College for free networking, education, and ongoing training for the Walla Walla Valley.

New as of 2018, Impact Grants are for smaller projects between $5,000-$15,000 with priority given to ideas that promote collaboration and kindness.
